Another grand temple to be built in Dubai:Indianness and Arabic culture will be reflected outside the temple being built in UAE, idols of 15 Hindu gods and goddesses will be installed
The country's second Hindu temple is going to be built in Dubai, UAE. Its work is going on in full swing these days. This will be the second grand temple to be built in Abu Dhabi after the BAPS Hindu temple. 15 Hindu deities will be installed in this temple being built in 82 thousand square feet. Here at a time, more than 1500 devotees will be able to visit and participate in the events. The exterior design of the temple is inspired by the traditional Arabic design of Mashrabiya. In a way, it will be a form of thanks from India for the UAE.
The entire interior of the temple will be inspired by the temples built in India. Its prayer hall is being built in 5000 square feet. It will have a co-ordination of black and white stones. The design of the inner pillars is inspired by the Somnath temple of Gujarat. The shikhara of this temple has been designed keeping in mind the Nagara style architecture of the Hindu temple. The total height of the temple will be 24 meters. The stones for the exterior stone cladding are being sourced from Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
Rs 550 crore will be spent on the construction of the
temple, Gopal Kokani, the general manager of the temple, told Bhaskar that Rs 550 crore will be spent on the construction of the temple. Once completed, the brass spire at the top of the temple will be visible from Dubai's famous Sheikh Zayed Road. The temple complex will have a banquet hall, kitchen, education hall for cultural programs and religious functions, besides a venue for weddings and various events.
